Carmel - Julia B. Blackburn, 83, died on May 13, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio,
August 24, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Lenora Older.
Julia was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, and the New England Telephone Company for 32 years, retiring in 1989 to care for her husband who passed away in 1990. She loved gardening, oil painting, music, and traveling.
Julia is survived by her loving son, Robert; several sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur,
Charles, and Jack; and her husband of 21 years, Avery Gene Blackburn. She also leaves behind her good friend, Barbara Nevers of Bangor.
A private service will be held in Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
