Karen Linda Lake, 75, passed away unexpectedly September 10th, 2024. She was born December 21st, 1948, in Bangor, the daughter of Harold K. and Pauline E. (Collins) Rand.
Karen was known for her love of animals, as shown by her multiple pets. She also enjoyed bird watching in her spare time. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She had an adventurous side demonstrated by sky diving on her 50th birthday! Karen was well known at Frank’s Bake Shop where she would always stop in when she was in town and bring anyone she visited the sweet treats. She was a very generous woman who was known to help anyone she knew. Karen was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Karen is survived by her daughters; Stacey Cluney of Yarmouth, Maine, Tina Cluney of Skowhegan, Maine, and Shannon Courand of Appleton, Maine and her husband, Peter; two special grandsons, Maguire and Waylon Courand; brothers, Craig B. Rand and his wife, Patricia A. Rand of Otis, Maine, and Kent Laforest Rand of Columbus, OH; and her special friend, Loretta Nixon. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Keith C. Rand.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer, with a private family celebration to be held at a later time.
