Karen M. Rothschild

Bangor- Karen M. Rothschild, 79, longtime resident of Bangor and the Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home in Brewer, Maine, passed away with her family by her side.
She was born March 6, 1945 in Bangor, the daughter of Norman and Violet Rothschild.
Karen grew up in the Little City neighborhood of Bangor and attended Bangor schools.
After graduating from two local nursing programs, Karen had a long dedicated career. First, she worked as an LPN and then RN at EMMC, Acadia Hospital, New England Home Health, Uplift INC/Putnam House. She later became the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director for the Elizabeth Levinson Center. Karen took great pride in providing meticulous, compassionate care of her patients throughout her career. She retired from nursing in 2007.
Karen was a nurturing and unconditionally loving mother, who cherished the time she spent raising her two children in Bangor.
Her parents, her beloved son, William Rothschild and a special nephew, Norman Harry Rothschild, preceded Karen in death.
Karen is survived by her brother, Michael Rothschild and his family of Phillips, Maine and her devoted daughter, Lauren Rothschild of Bangor, Maine. She also leaves behind her constant canine companion, Lily.
The family would like to thank the residents, Director Angela Hobson and staff at the Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home for their kindness and support of Karen and her daughter. Special gratitude to three outstanding caregivers, who assisted her daughter with her care: Jackie Taylor, Tonya Perkins, and Susan Mccready.
As per Karen’s wishes, there will be a private family graveside service.
