Karl Peterson

July 29, 1929 — October 14, 2013

Karl L. (Pete) Peterson went to be with his Lord on October 14, 2013, peacefully with his family at his side. He was born July 29, 1929 in Corinth the son of Theodore Karl Peterson and Sarah Merle Bean. Karl graduated from Higgins Classical Institute. He served in the Unites States Army Combat Signal Corp, laying communication lines to the front. After returning from the War, Karl began his career at New England Telephone as a lineman for 34 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Kenduskeag Masonic Lodge, Telephone Pioneers of America, Corinth Fire Department, and the Piscataquis Valley Fair. Karl had enjoyed going to camp, snowmobiling, spending time at Penobscot Valley Acres, traveling with his wife, and most importantly spending time with his family. In his later years he loved the quiet moments of holding hands with the love of his life watching the sunrise and sunsets. Karl is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Blanch (Ellis) Peterson; daughter Leola (Beanie) Barry of Corinth; son Ted Peterson of Kenduskeag; granddaughter Lindsey M. Peterson of Lake Mary, FL; brother Robert Wiseman and his wife Sandra of East Corinth; sisters-in-law Rena Smart of Riverhead, Long Island N.Y., and Rita Beckwith of Bangor; many nieces and nephews.
