Brewer – Katherine L. Goodness, 68, died unexpectedly June 18, 2019, at Ross Manor. She was born September 1, 1950, in Lewiston, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Newall) Hilt.
Katherine graduated from the University of Maine at Machias with a B.S. in education in 1972. She was a substitute teacher for the Brewer School System. Katherine married Richard Goodness and settled in Brewer. They celebrated 41 years of marriage last July. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Katherine was predeceased by her parents. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Richard Goodness, are her son, Joshua Goodness of Winterport; brothers, Dana Hilt and his wife, Terry, of Gorham, David Hilt and his wife, Ellen, of Gardiner; nieces, Gretchen Migliaccio and her husband, Paul, and their daughter, Talia, of Gardiner, Alison Hilt and her daughter, Abigail, of Gardiner.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 225 French Street, Bangor, with Rev. Marguerite A. H. Steadman, Rector, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the undercroft of the church immediately following the service. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
