Kathleen Ward Choate passed away quietly at age 91 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta, Maine, on October 27, 2018. She came into this world on October 16, 1927, Kathleen Elizabeth Doane, the second daughter of Bessie Connolly and Walter Doane of Brewer, Maine. She was a graduate of Brewer High School and Mercy Hospital College of Nursing and worked as registered nurse for her entire career, with the last 17 years at the Veteran’s Administration hospital in Togus, Maine. In retirement, she was a long-time resident of Lamoine, Maine, where she enjoyed her pet dogs and oil painting. She is survived by her son, F Stephen Ward and his wife, Mary C Toole, of Peaks Island Maine, her grand-daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Ward of Los Altos, California, her niece, Elizabeth Alice Kreigh of Topsham, Maine, and many cousins and other relatives. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her sister, Charlotte (Doane) Kreigh. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 am. Saturday December 22, 2018 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, South Main St., Brewer, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
