Katie Anne Fugel, 12, was tragically taken too soon, May 10, 2016 after a rare and major cardiac event.
This loving and kind little girl was born December 29, 2003, in Bangor, the daughter of Garth and Christine Fugel.
Katie loved cheering, cross country, track, school dances, and any activities that would allow her to be at school with her friends. She was a straight “A” student and recently competed in District Five honors chorus. Katie had a beautiful voice and left an impact on anyone she met- young and old alike. Katie had a heart of gold and was a caretaker of her mother, Christine, during her illness.
Katie was predeceased by her mother, Christine Fugel on August 16, 2014. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Garth Fugel and Teresa Page of Corinth; her beautiful big sister, Faith Fugel of Corinth; step-sister, Marissa and her husband, Ryan Martin and their son Greyson; grandparents, Rosemary Fugel, Dale and Paula Fugel, and Marge Winter; aunts and uncles, Myk and Cindy Kasprzak, Mike and Kathleen Kimball, Darren and Trixie Winter; her special cousins, Nick, Kayla, Ian, Mark, Mary, Griffin, and Holly.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St. Bangor, followed by The Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Katie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to a scholarship fund for Faith Fugel to Bangor Savings Bank, Attn: Barbara Whitney, 22 Main Street, Dexter, ME 04930.
