Bangor - Keith Alan Dresser, 77, born November 17, 1947, in Bangor, the eldest son of Robert and Patricia (Downing) Dresser, passed away November 30, 2024, surrounded by family.
Keith was raised on the west side of the city, graduating from Bangor High School, class of 1966. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Army Commendation medal and was honorably discharged in 1971. Keith was a proud American, who loved his country, and was a member of DAV, VFW, and the American Legion.
In 1972 Keith married Brenda Carter, and they raised four children in their nearly 52 years together. Being a father was Keith's most treasured role, and in later years he became a grandfather to four, all of whom he was very proud. As a father and grandfather, Keith could always make children smile with his voice impressions of many cartoon characters, notably Cookie Monster and Donald Duck. He found ways to make even the simplest activities fun adventures for the people he loved. Keith was also an avid fisherman, he served as a Boy Scout leader, and had a strong faith in the Lord.
Keith spent 20 years working in the Public Information Office at the University of Maine, where he excelled as a photographer. Photography was his passion, and he could always be counted on to have at least one camera in hand to document the memories of family events and milestones in his children's lives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Brenda, are his daughters, Angel, Cristie and Katrina; his son, Adam; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jacob, Aly, and Odin. In addition to his beloved parents, Keith has joined his brother, Gary, in heaven.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
