Kenneth Brooks

May 15, 1964 — January 28, 2023

Kenneth L. Brooks, Jr. “Kenny,” 58, died January 28, 2023, at a Bangor hospital after a long and hard-fought battle with diabetes. He was born May 15, 1964, to Kenneth Brooks, Sr., and Bernice (Farnsworth) Brooks, of Cherryfield.

Kenny attended Cherryfield Elementary School and disliked school so much that he once missed the bus and unbeknownst to anyone, took the spark plugs out of his mother’s car so she could not drive him to school. If Kenny had to walk to school, he would find something else to do for the day! Kenny had a strong work ethic that led him right to the workforce at Four Corner’s Gas Station, then RW Mathews & Sons, where he delivered and hauled heating oil and gas, and then to Jasper Wyman & Son hauling heavy equipment, blueberries, and other frozen fruit. Kenny took great pride in his work, and you would often meet him waving and smiling from whatever truck he would be driving.

Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing all over Downeast, Maine, always going after the big white-tail bucks, and the largest fish you could find. Some of his best hunting and fishing stories involve his special cousin, Mikey Brooks, of Cherryfield. Kenny also enjoyed four-wheeling and spending time with his large family.

Kenny is survived by his son, Eric Brooks, and his partner, Chase, son Cameron, sister, Joni Perry, and her partner, Walter, brother, Kevin Brooks and his wife, Gina, and sister Kim Smith and her husband Dwayne. Kenny also had several nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews that enjoyed teasing and having fun with. Kenny is predeceased by his parents, sister, Linda Seavey, and special cousin, Mikey Brooks.
