HOLDEN – Kenneth R. “Ken” Cochrane, 73, died peacefully August 22, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 3, 1942 in Prentiss, son of James Russell and Eunice Alice (Tucker) Cochrane.
Ken was a graduate of Tucker Tech and a U.S. Army veteran. Ken was a 22-year veteran of the Bangor Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. Following his retirement, he had numerous other jobs where he made many special friends. He particularly enjoyed spending time at their camp on East Grand Lake with family and friends. Ken was a 45-year member of the Bangor Lodge of Elks and P.E.R.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie E. Cochrane; five children, Lisa Lovely and her husband, Christopher, Bobbi Cochrane and partner, B.J. Murray, Melissa Hafford and her husband, John, Donald Cochrane and Scott Smith; four grandchildren, Brian Cochrane, Scot Smith, Tyler Hafford and Colby Hafford; one sister, Katherine Gogan and her husband, Walter “Sonny”; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Ken was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Lynn Cochrane, a sister, Charlotte Lindsay and her husband, George; two brothers, Donald R. Cochrane and Robert F. Cochrane.
A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held 11 am Friday, August 26, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with Pastor Linette George of the Holden Congregational Church officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service Friday.
