BREWER - Kenneth M. Jacobs passed away on 12/24/2022. Ken was born in Cosmo Township, NE, in 1930. He is the son of the late John Thomas Jacobs and Adelia Jacobs.
He was married to the love of his life, Julia Curtis Jacobs, for over 50 years. They enjoyed extensive traveling throughout the United States. They traveled to Nebraska and Florida throughout the years. Ken especially enjoyed family gatherings and holidays spent with his family and friends.
He attended the University of Nebraska for civil engineering. His college was interrupted to serve his country when he was called up to join the Air Force. He later returned to his studies and became a professional registered civil engineer. He worked at the Maine Department of Transportation for 30+ years. He and Julie were members of Hammond Street Congregational Church in Bangor.
Ken is survived by his four children, Judy Crosby and Tom Crosby of Falmouth, Bruce Jacobs and Linnea Roy of Eddington, Neal Jacobs and Sharon Jacobs of Naples, FL, and Susan Corbett and Ted Corbett of Brewer. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Sharon K. Jacobs and Charlotte Curtis Smith, and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Julie and his brother Clifford.
The family would like to thank Ken's caregivers for their compassionate care at the Scarborough Veterans' Home and the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.
Friends may call from 7-8 pm on Thursday Dec.29th at Brookings Smith, Brewer Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a service of remembrance will be held Friday Dec. 30th at 2:00 pm. The service will be live streamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/kenneth-jacobs.
