Kenneth Lyford

Kenneth E. Lyford Jr., 68, passed away on June 11, 2024, at a Bangor hospital, his family by his side. Kenneth was born on May 9, 1956, to Kenneth Sr. and Edna (Webster) Lyford.

Kenneth grew up in Prospect, attending the Searsport school system before settling down with the love of his life, Kathy Whittlesey. Together, they celebrated 42 years of marriage, raising two children. Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman, earning his living cutting wood. In his free time, he enjoyed moose hunting, raking blueberries, starting in 1969 with his parents, later including his entire family, and time spent with family.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his brother, Freeman. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Jessie (Jamie) Moody and Kenneth (Daisy) Lyford; grandchildren, Zachary, Andrea, Dakota, Kaleb; sisters, Sandra (Earl), Susanne (Sonny), Cynthia (Jim) and Audrey (Gregg); brother, Douglas (Flo); brother-in-law, Alan (Lynn); sister-in-law, Margaret (Billy); as well as his dog, Peapod.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden, Maine. Interment will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe.
