Brewer – Kenneth John Wentworth, 80, died peacefully at his home, Melody Ranch. He was born January 21, 1943 in Bangor, son of Kenneth F. Wentworth and Helen A. Bradley.
Ken attended local schools, worked at Eastern Fine Paper for ten years before becoming an independent Real Estate - investor, developer and property manager. He owned AAA apartments, AAA TV service, as well as Affordable Car Sales in Hampden and was a licensed yacht dealer.
He was an avid golfer, car enthusiast, and a well-respected local musician. He had three #1 hits on the independent country music charts in Europe between 2000 and 2010 where his music is still being played today. The week Johnny Cash died, Ken was the 2nd most played artist in all of Europe, second only to Johnny Cash. He also promoted the endeavors of 55 entertainers from all over the world, helping them to become recognized for their musical abilities. Many became very well known.
His one passion in life, other than working, was music. He owned and operated Artists Carousel Promotions and Audio/Video Recording Studio.
He was a big supporter of country music in this State, and sat on the board of Pine Tree County Music Association for 12 years as well as Maine State Country Music Hall of Fame for ten years. He is being inducted in October in the Maine Ole Opry, and has been nominated for Maine State Country Music Hall of Fame.
He founded NEWSEA, New England Society of Entertainers and Artists in 2009. His mission was to support Maine country music artists, past, present, and future through acquisition and preservation of the Maine artists' works.

He is survived by Andrea Libbey; his former wife, Judith Hubbard, the mother of his children, Sheila Wentworth, Lisa Wentworth, Theresa Wentworth, Lori Stark, and Bill Wentworth; his brother, James Wentworth and family of Bangor; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; special friends, Matt Skaves, Harry King, Barbara Everett, Bob Day, Ron Rines, Dave Morrison, Lewie Morrison, and the many people he met through his music that have become good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, John Hudson, and special friends, Vance Tripp, Erik Ruhlin, Norma Baker, and Joanne Lindsey.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 217 York Street, Bangor where he was a lifelong member. The Rite of committal with be held in Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
