Kenneth Young

Alton - Kenneth H Young, 84, peacefully left us March 8, 2020 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born February 25, 1936 in Old Town, the oldest of four children, son of Pearl and Kenneth Young. He proudly served in the Air National Guard. Kenny retired as Supervisor from Wardwell/Lane Construction and also worked as a painter and woodsman with family. He had a strong devotion to the Town of Alton, serving on the School Board and many years as Selectman, was instrumental in constructing the Municipal Building and Fire Station as Building Committee Chairman.
While Bamp/Grandpa Kenny loved spending time at his camp hunting and fishing, his greatest treasure was spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Cora Young; children, Rhonda (Greg) Mayer, Belinda Arnold, Donna (Keith) Dean, Katrina (Bob) Barnes, Rodney (Cathy) Young, and Donnie (Amy) Young; grandchildren, Rachel, Sam, Wayne, Jeff, Alicia, Bruce, Heather, Joseph, Jessica, Cody, Kyle, Shelbi, Brittnie and Tyler; great grandchildren, Brandon, Kai, Brycen, Brayden, Mason, Sauyer and Maddox; brother, Walter (Iona) Young; several brother and sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Rosa and Mary; son-in-law, Jerry; and grandson, Ryan.
Visitation Friday, March 13th from 2-4 pm with funeral service held 4 pm, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments following the service. Interment will be held at a later date.
