ROCKPORT - Kevin T. Michaud, 62, passed away on January 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and inspiring resilience. Born December 4, 1962, in Bangor to Elizabeth M.
(Bouchard) and James F. Michaud, Sr., Kevin touched countless lives through his generous spirit and unwavering dedication to others.
After graduating from Old Town High School in 1983, Kevin earned his degree in Accounting and Business Science from Beals College in 1987. His deep Catholic faith was central to his life, first as a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bradley, then St. John's Catholic Church in Bangor, and most recently as an active communicant at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belfast.
Kevin's commitment to service touched countless lives. In his youth, he became a familiar face on the annual Cerebral Palsy Telethon, serving as both participant and host. In 1973, he was honored as the Telethon Theme Child for the Celebrity Parade. Two years earlier, in 1971, he had participated in a special ceremony at the State House, where he and another child presented Governor Kenneth Curtis with the first sheet of Easter Seals.
His commitment to service continued throughout his life. He got involved with the WindowDressers organization in Searsport and Belfast, where he helped with Community Builds insulating window inserts. He was described as a "volunteer extraordinaire" and was incredibly generous with his time.
Being in a wheelchair did not stop him from going to the Builds to help his friends. He really enjoyed spending time with them.
A man of profound faith, Kevin served the Knights of Columbus for 31 years, beginning with Bangor's Pine Cone Council before joining the Belfast Council. He achieved the distinguished Patriotic 4th degree in 2024. As Council Lecturer, he shared spiritual insights drawn from his extensive reading, particularly "Jesus Speaks to Faustina and You." Among his most meaningful contributions was the Rosary Makers at St. Francis, where he both taught others and personally crafted countless rosaries. At monthly Knights' breakfasts, his warm smile greeted visitors as he helped with setup and collected donations.
Kevin's curiosity and faith led him to traveling, including meaningful journeys to Quebec, Italy, France, and the Soviet Union with his friends from church. A highlight of his spiritual journey was a personal audience with Pope John Paul II (now Saint Pope John Paul II).
He is survived by his siblings Wayne (wife Melissa, Pam (husband Gary), Dale, and Mary (husband Ivan), along with several nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, brother Jimmy, niece Kristin, and nephew Jarod.
