Kimberly “Kimmy” MacDonald
Bangor
Kimberly “Kimmy” Marie MacDonald, 55, passed away on October 18th, 2021 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Kimmy was born on April 16, 1966 in Bangor, the daughter of Richard and Carolyn MacDonald.
Kimmy’s family moved to Florida when she was a child and lived there for 16 years, forming relationships that lasted a lifetime, including her best friend, Cathy Grubb. Whether in Florida or Maine, Kimmy found peace at the ocean. She loved Schoodic Point, Maine where she frequently visited. She shared this passion with her late father, Richard MacDonald.
After leaving Florida, Kimmy moved back to Maine, where she worked hard at every job she had. She was a loyal and dedicated employee and was proud of everything she worked for. She had many passions, including reading, collecting purses and she would never miss an opportunity to take a family photo to capture the memories.
Family was everything to Kimmy. She loved spending time with her loved ones, whether celebrating special occasions or simply going for a drive to the coast. It was the simple things in life that made her happy. She adored her nephews, Kyle and his companion Kelsey, Tyler and Ryan. She cherished her great nephew and niece, Cedric and Wynn and her sister’s dog, Piper who held a special place in her heart.
Kimmy will be missed by her Auntie Linda and best friend Jodi Parkhurst, with whom she had a special bond. They loved their time together, especially their weekly lunch dates at some of Kimmy’s favorite restaurants, Pats Pizza in Orono and Pepinos.
Her smile could light up the darkest of days, and her laugh was contagious. Kimmy had a heart of gold and always had a positive attitude. She stood out with her sassy red hair and spunky personality.
Kimmy was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Carolyn MacDonald.
She is survived by her sister, Suzy MacDonald of Bangor, and brother Scott MacDonald and his wife Krista of Bangor.
