Lance Thompson

BANGOR – Lance W. Thompson, 36, went home to be with the Lord. He died peacefully at home February 4, 2015. He was born September 3, 1978, in Bangor, the son of Warren Leslie Thompson and Joyce Evelyn (Greenlaw) Thompson.
Lance graduated from Dexter Regional High School where he studied Culinary Arts. He worked in the kitchen as a Dietary Aide at Ross Manor in Bangor, where he met his wife Melissa and they married in 2011. Together they attended the Word of Life Church in Bangor. Lance enjoyed playing video games, watching movies and working with computers. He collected key chains, pens and dragon figurines. Lance was a quiet, kind-hearted man who was always smiling. He loved his cats and had a special bond with one particular cat, Moxie. He also really enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Adam.
Lance was predeceased by his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife, Melissa Ackley Thompson of Bangor, are three siblings, Amelia A. Carlow and her husband Kenny of Central Falls, RI, Warren L. Jay and his wife Tara of Sangerville, and Mary E. Polley and her husband Thomas of Dexter; step son Travis Martin of Bangor; plus several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Word of Life Church, 1606 Hammand St., Bangor, where relative and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the church following the service. A spring interment will be in Garland.
