Newburgh - Lee Allan Bailey Sr., 69, died November 25, 2014 at a Bangor Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born August 7, 1945 in Bangor, the son of Virginia (Gallupe) Thurston. Lee attended Bangor schools and married his high school sweetheart, Dian Lewis. He enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in his work. This led to a lifelong career in the construction business. Lee had a great sense of humor and always had the room laughing. He was well respected in the community. Lee was the past Master of Archon Lodge No. 75 of East Dixmont, and a member of the Anah Shiners. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dian; two children, Pam Dunham, of Bangor, and Lee Allen Jr., of Buxton; six grandchildren, Brittney, Brooke, and Bailey Dunham and Emelia, Hunter, and Maxx Bailey; brother, Keith Bailey and his wife, Gayle, of Orrington; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very special friend, Hollis Edwards, of Winterport. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Jeff Dunham. A Masonic memorial service conducted by the officers and members of Archon Lodge #75 of East Dixmont will be held 11:00am Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor followed by a service of remembrance with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, immediately following the service.
