Corinth – Leon Legassie Jr., 76, died January 9, 2023. He was born April 15, 1946, in Bangor, the son of the late Leon and Avis Legassie Sr.
Leon served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy. Following his service, he returned home and joined the Bangor Fire Department, retiring after 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice M. (Pittman) Legassie of Brewer; daughters, Wendy and her husband, Robert Thompson of Corinth, and Tracey and her husband, Chris Davis of Texas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
