Leona Evelyn Hatt, passed away and went to her Heavenly home on January 18, 2021, at an Orono healthcare facility with family by her side. She was born on March 29, 1920, in Bangor, the daughter of William F. and Edna A. (Varnum) McDonald.
Leona was a devoted and nurturing mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved life to the fullest. Leona cherished her home church, Messiah Baptist Church on Union Street, Bangor.
She is survived by her daughters; Evelyn Ireland of Florida, Barbara Cormier of Florida, Linda Richardson of Maine, Ann McCord of New Mexico, Patricia Cerini of Maine; grandchildren, Jeff, Janice, Wendy, Gary, Ricky, Fred, Jeffrey, Billy, Michael, Russell and Stephen; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Leona was predeceased by her husband William and a son William Jr. "Little Billy".
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer, Maine with Pastor Gary Horton, officiating. A reception will follow the service.
