BANGOR & BREWER - Leona M. (York) Ward, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 6, 2018. She was born April 4, 1931 in Farmington, the daughter of Clinton and Sylvia (Hall) York.

A graduate of Brewer High School, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Lee was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Phillip A. Ward; her children, Marjorie E. Ward, Thomas A. Ward, and Dennis L. Ward; brothers, Dayton, Millard, Kirtland, and Austin; sisters, Gladys (York) Ellingwood, and Viola (York) Ellingwood.

Lee was the mother of seven children. Her surviving family will fondly remember her love, patience and kindness. Children Pamela M. and William B. Cahoon, of Wallingford, CT, Donald P. Ward and Pamela (Mangeot), of Fairborn, OH, Ronald I. Ward of Bangor, and Christopher A. Ward and Martha (Neff) of Bangor; daughter-in-law, Susan (Pence) Ward of Wichita, KS. Her grandchildren, Casey Cahoon and Hope (Kingston), Jessica (Cahoon) and Robert Cyr, Sara (Cahoon) and Ari Crooks, Anna, Therese, Psy, Daniel and Manda (Chui), Samuel and Skylar (Winn), Tom, Dillon, Megan and Edward; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Carter, Cole, Cameron, Paige, Hue, Zoey, Brooke, Ander, Genieve, Emmett, Aubrey and Tristan

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St. Brewer, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 12th. Interment will be held following the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hermon. The family would like to express their gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice and Loving Touch for their support in caring for Lee. We give our unending love and gratitude for the sacrifices her son, Ronnie, made to care for her during the last three years, so she could remain at home.
