Leonard Chapman

July 18, 1948 — August 3, 2023

BANGOR – Leonard M. Chapman passed away August 3, 2023 with his family by his side. He is now home with the Lord and his wife, Joyce, living pain free. He was born July 18, 1948 in Bangor, the son of George Edward and Frances Leona (Bushey) Chapman.

Leonard, better known as Michael or “Mike” was extremely talented and a caring father, husband, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Boggs of Bangor; 10 grandchildren, Athena, Anthony, Zachary, Destiny, Dominic, Izzac, Chris, Josh, Noah and Jackie; two great grandchildren, Zara and Kyree; a very close sister, Darlene (Chapman) Petrakovich; siblings, Vicki, Gaye, David, Gail, Faye, Nanette and Carlene.

Mike’s world revolved around his wife and grandchildren whom he loved and cherished every single day. Mike did 2 tours in Vietnam, proudly serving our country for many years. He worked as a carpenter, building homes and roofing for many years, a Jack of All Trades. He enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with his family, particularly his grandkids.

Michael was a minister, a Catholic man, and put all his faith into the Lord. May his soul forever rest in peace. Our family has gained another guardian angel. You are with Mom now; be sure to forever watch over us Dad.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor at a time and date to be announced.
