LEVANT – Leroy O. Mayhew, 77, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and grandson on February 12, 2020. He was born on March 3, 1942, in Glenburn, the son of Oral and Lucy (Pomroy) Mayhew.
Leroy was a hard worker and started working in the woods at a young age, he retired from the woods at 62. He married the love of his life, Jeannie, on March 27, 1972 and together they raised their daughter, who in-turn, blessed them with their grandson, Shawn. He was an avid hunter who never left the woods without a deer. Leroy had a great sense of humor and was quick with a joke. He cared for everyone.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeannie; his grandson, Shawn; his daughter, Theresa; brother, Andy and his wife, Brenda Mayhew; sisters, Eleanor and her husband Dennis Murphy, and Irene Robinson.
