Lester A. Gray
Holden
Lester Gray, 96, passed away December 25, 2021. He was born in Dedham, October 5, 1925 the son of Leslie W. and Nellie M. (McTague) Gray.
Lester served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. He was employed as a heating engineer with Dow Air Force Base and the City of Bangor and he retired from the University of Maine as a steam fitter.
Lester was a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Marshall) Gray; three brothers Roy, Milo and Hoddy and by a sister Blanche.
Surviving are a son, Alton Gray of Holden and his girlfriend Mary ; three daughters, Donna Jamieson, of Holden, Beverly McGillicuddy and her husband Danny of Gorham, and Carol Reynolds of Holden; grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Anthony, Barbara, Loralyn, Lorraine, Netsie, Robin, Beth, Rachel, Jarrod, Sue, Chris, Shaun, Cara, Jason and Lisa; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two brothers, Leland and Warren Gray.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maine Veteran’s Home and Kindred Hospice.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm. Thursday December 30, 2021, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer with Pastor Carl Schreiber, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 1 pm. Until time of service.

Spring interment will be in Central Cemetery, Dedham.
Regardless of vaccination status, masks are required.
