EXETER – Lilla Mae (Pushor) Demmons, 70, passed away February 24, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born March 30, 1948 in Bangor to the late Pearl and Hattie (Curtis) Pushor.
Lilla was a graduate of Bangor High School’s class of 1966. She briefly moved to California with her mother and sister, Helen after graduation. She returned to Maine and in 1978 she married Merle “Sonny” Demmons, Jr. They lived in Bangor before moving to Exeter. Lilla worked at Vittron Electronics, Inc. until her retirement. She was an active member and banker at the Brewer Eagles Club on Sunday for cribbage. Lilla enjoyed spending time with her family and with her best friend, Peanut, her beagle.
She is survived by her sisters, Arlene Mooers of Exeter, Beverly Dauber and husband, Wayne of Escondido, CA; brother, David Curtis and his wife, Roberta of Sun City Center, FL; grandchildren, Kevin Demmons and his wife, Devan of Carmel, Tammy Watters of Old Town, and Corey Demmons; step-son, Scott Demmons; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Demmons; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Chloe Watters. In addition to her parents and husband, Lilla was predeceased by her sister, Helen Plummer; brother, Robert Curtis, and her step-son, Kevin N. Demmons.
Interment will be announced at a later date and will take place at the Dixmont Corner Cemetery, Dixmont.
