Bangor- Linda J. Blackwell, 67, passed away on January 21st, 2019. She was born February 15th, 1951 in Bangor, the daughter of Shady and Evelyn (McPherson) Blackwell.
Linda graduated from Hermon High School in 1969 and was very proud to have graduated from Husson College while raising her two young children. Linda was all heart and did not value earthly possessions, often giving anything she had to anyone who needed it. She did however, place a great deal of value on her relationships with people and her extraordinary empathy allowed her to see and focus on only the best qualities of those around her.
Guided by her faith in the Lord, she was blessed with exceptional listening skills and was often sought after for advice from those lucky enough to know her. Linda had a fond appreciation for music, conversation, nature, being near the water, sitting by a fire and taking day trips. She had a special relationship with all of her grandchildren who will fondly remember her as a truly selfless, loving Nana.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers. She is survived by her companion of 35 years, Michael T. Campbell; Her daughter Elizabeth and her husband James Ireland of Bangor and their children Justin, Cooper and Izabella; son Matthew Campbell and his wife, Heather and their children Olivia, Allie and Reese; several other brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A private funeral with her closest family and friends was held at Brookings-Smith, Bangor and interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
