BANGOR & HODGDON – Linda R. Cassidy, 79, died peacefully on December 20, 2019 in Bangor after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Houlton on October 19, 1940 to Claude and Ruth (Grant) Russell.
Linda married Oden Cassidy on November 26, 1959 and together they raised their family on the Calais Road.
She is survived by her children, David Cassidy and his wife, Diane of Cary, ME, Karen Cassidy of Reston, VA, Kathy Nee and her husband, Ed of Charleston, ME, and Andrew Cassidy and his wife, Joy of Glenburn; grandchildren, Greg Cassidy, Lisa MacDonald, LeeAnna Sampay, Sarah Boutilier, Brandon, Cassidy, Roman Cassidy, and Tucker Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Brennan, Damon, Riley, and Claire. In addition to her loving husband, Linda was predeceased by her sisters, Donna and Betty; and her niece, Holly Boutilier.
A funeral service will be held 11 am, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 10 am to the time of service Saturday. Those who wish to remember Linda are encouraged to make gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route 1 #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
