BREWER – Linda M. Hamadey passed away April 1, 2016 at a Bangor hospital peacefully with her husband and daughter by her side. Lin, as she preferred, was born September 2, 1939 in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada to Winifred and Jack Symonds.
Lin was a graduate of John Oliver High School, Vancouver BC and was a double Major graduate of the University of British Columbia in Bacteriology and Home Economics. She also obtained her Maine Realtors License. Lin worked in the provincial laboratory in Vancouver and then moved to LA and enrolled at UCLA to get her technician license, and then gained employment there. Jeffrey and she then moved back to her birthplace of Vancouver, BC where she and her husband owned and operated their salon for 25 years. In 1998 they relocated to Brewer to be closer to her husband’s family. Lin traveled all over the world and lived in many places including Los Angeles, which was her favorite. Beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Lin loved to take extended visits to care for her two youngest grandchildren in Sumter, SC whom added even more joy to her life. Lin was active in the community, and was a member of Millwee Chapter #198 Order of Eastern Star, Brewer Historical Society serving many years as Secretary; Penobscot County Conservation Association and an NRA Member.
Lin is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jeffrey, daughter, Jacklin M. Kee and her husband, Robert D. Kee of Sumter, SC; stepdaughters, Dawn M. Flores Rambo and her husband Robert Rambo, April A. Harrison; 2 grandchildren, Landon and Julianne Kee; her brother and sister in-law, Dr. Gary and Linda Symonds of Las Vegas, NV; 5 step grandchildren, Chloe and Zach Flores, Meagan, Nick and Lexi Rolfe; great-grandson Brayden Cole.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 4 to 6pm Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main Street, Brewer.
