Linda Jane Maynard

BANGOR – Linda Jane Maynard, 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at a local hospital. She was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick and raised in Lubec before settling in Bangor, Maine. She was a valued employee of the University of Maine in Orono for 42 years, serving both the Chemistry and Physics Departments.
Known for her love of family, she delighted in planning family get-togethers and celebrating their lives. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother, Walter Irwin, Jr. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Mark Maynard of Bangor; sister, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Edgecomb of Monroe Township, New Jersey; and sister-in-law, Helen Irwin of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where a funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021. Face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status. Everyone is invited to share in conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the services Saturday.
