Linda Jean LeClair, 73, passed away April 7 at a local nursing home, following a long illness. She was born December 31, 1949 in Houlton ME, the daughter of Linwood and Verda LeClair. Linda was raised in Limestone ME. Her family moved to Bangor in 1964, so that Linda could attend special education classes at Fairmount School and Bangor High School, where she graduated in 1970.
After graduation, Linda enjoyed working in sheltered workshops, sawing kindling and making candles. When these opportunities were phased out, Linda worked as a housekeeper. Linda lived independently, with the support of her parents and siblings. She enjoyed her freedom, riding her bicycle, meeting people and keeping in touch with extended family with many letters and phone calls.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Linwood F. LeClair and Verda (Thompson) LeClair; uncles Henry LeClair, Raymond LeClair, Alfred LeClair, Lyndon and wife Frances Treadwell, Arthur and wife Virginia Treadwell and James Treadwell; and aunts Caritha and husband Wilfrid Cyr and Alfreda and husband Camille Morneault.
Surviving are her sister, Mary LeClair Graf and husband Matthew C. Graf of Lander WY, brothers James LeClair and wife Patti Cromwell LeClair of Bushnell FL and Robert LeClair and wife Ellen Kuhn of Tenafly NJ; nephews Richard and wife Angela Graf of Gray ME, Matthew T. and wife Louisa Graf of Lander WY and Malcolm LeClair of Berkeley CA; nieces Emily Graf of Miami FL and Hannah LeClair of Philadelphia PA; great-nephew Miles Graf and great-niece Rosalie Graf of Lander WY; aunts Ethel LeClair of Kittery ME, Janet LeClair of Yorktown VA and Carole Treadwell of Orono ME and many cousins.
