LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ AND MARIAVILLE - Lisa Marie Ryder-Cron, 40, passed away with her family by her side, at West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, AZ , on Saturday, February 8, 2014, after a long and courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer.
She was born on March 5, 1973 in Bangor, ME, the daughter of Jennifer E. (Colbath) and Neal A. "Buzz" Ryder III.
Lisa attended high school at Hampden Academy in Hampden, ME, graduating in 1991. She enlisted in the US Air Force in 1995 and proudly served as a weapons controller/scheduler and instructor for 15 years, seeing two tours of duty in Kuwait during Operation Desert Fox and Southern Watch. She attained the rank of MSgt before being honorably discharged due to her illness in 2010. She will be fondly remembered for her love of her family and friends, animals, gardening, crafts, and...shopping.
Lisa was predeceased by her father, Buzz, in 1982. She is survived by her husband and stepdaughter, Fay A. and Erica N. Cron of Litchfield Park, AZ; her mother and stepfather, Jennifer E. and Donald E. Holt, Jr. of Mariaville, ME; brother and sister-in-law, Jason L. and Crystal F. Ryder of Mariaville, ME; stepsister Jennifer M. Holt of Holden, ME; a special niece, Lauren A. Boutilier of Bangor, ME; mother-in-law, Ellen Cron of Sayre, PA; paternal grandmother, Eleanor M. Ryder of Bangor, ME; many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and numerous friends.
A memorial service for Lisa will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, March 15, 2014, Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, officiating, and relatives and friends may call from noon until the time of service. Gifts in memory of Lisa may be sent to Hope Team, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 14200 Celebrate Life Way, Goodyear, AZ, 85338.
