BANGOR – Lloyd David Malley, 78, passed away November 20, 2016, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born October 17, 1938, in Augusta, the son of Lloyd Sr. and Margaret Tuttle (Cary) Malley.
Lloyd graduated from Cony High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country for four years. Lloyd married the love of his life, Barbara, and shared over 50 years together. Lloyd worked for years at the Thomaston State Prison as a prison guard, later transferred to Bangor to continue his career. He also spent many years working as a private investigator. Lloyd enjoyed golf, horse races, spending time with family, and traveling to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach with Barbara.
In addition to Lloyd’s parents and his wife, he was predeceased by a son, David Malley; a step-son, Steve Leighton; and a step-father, Wallace Cary. Surviving are a son, Mike and wife Roxanne Malley of Augusta; daughters, Becky and husband Dan Craig of Bangor, Margaret Martin of Bangor; Jodi Council of Orono, brother Ken and wife Jackie of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, with Brian Hurst, pastor of the Destiny Worship Center, officiating.
