Lois Smart

HOLDEN – Lois Smart, 75, passed away Wednesday September 25, 2013 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1938 in Parkman, the daughter of the late Birchie and Doris (Clifford) Tarr. Lois was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed the camping trips she took with her family as well as the traveling she did with her husband John. Lois was a room mother for the local school. She never let her illness take away her zest for life and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband John Smart of Holden she leaves behind three children, Tim Smart and his significant other Marlene Spencer of Orrington, Corey Smart and his wife Tess of Exeter, Shannon Marshman and her husband Robert Jr. of Stetson, two grandsons, Zachary Smart of Connecticut, Patrick Smart of Bangor, two brothers, Harley Tarr and his wife Janet of Guilford, George Tarr and his wife June of Dover Fox-Croft, two sisters, Nancy Patterson and her husband Basil Jr. of Abbott, Ann Parsons and her husband David of Troy, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Robert Tarr. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Thursday October 3, 2013 at Rowe Cemetery, Holden.
