Loring “JR” Salls Jr., 74, passed away at a Bangor hospital on November 30, 2024. He was born in Bangor on June 15, 1950, the son of Loring Sr. and Anna (Hazelwood) Salls.
JR attended Bangor schools. He married the love of his life, Mona Gould, in 1985. Together they built a life, raising two sons and running, and then owning, JR Redemption Center for 40 plus years. After retirement, JR enjoyed fishing, putting ‘miles on his Maverick’, traveling the state looking for the tastiest food and socializing.
In addition to his parents, JR was predeceased by his wife, Mona; siblings, Philip and David; in-laws, Naomi, Michelle, and Joe. He is survived by children, Scott Gould and his wife, Bette; Bennett Gould and his wife, Angela,; grandchildren, Kody, Kamron, Benjimin, and Caleb Gould, Taylor and Faith Brown; great-grandchildren, Treven and Fallon Gould, Aria and Elijah Brown; siblings, Larry, Kerry (Darnell), Joey, Daniel, and Betti; special friends, Dave “Double D” Dunphy Sr., Mike Murphy, and Steve Hussey; several nieces and nephews; as well as grand dogs, Marley, Gus, Bella, and King.

Friends are welcome to call from 5-7pm Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer where a funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, December 13, 2024 with interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, immediately after.
