BANGOR - Lorraine M. Flood, 97, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ April 30, 2022, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born April 7, 1925, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of Lloyd and Mabel (Day) Clark.
She raised her family of 6 children in Calais, Maine where, she would say, were her happiest days. One of her greatest joys was serving her Lord in the fellowship with other believers at the Second Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. She was well known by the neighborhood kids for her molasses cookies. She was owner and teacher of Lorraine's Ceramics where her passion for art was expressed.
After the death of her first husband, she married Max Barone and they spent their retirement in Florida playing golf, shuffleboard and enjoying the sun.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Carole Smith of Calais, Maine, Faye Robinson of Bangor, Maine, Roger Flood of York, Pennsylvania, Ann Flood of Bangor, Maine, Dana Flood, of Bangor, Maine and Sherie Maxwell, of Alhambra, California; eleven grandchildren, Blain Greenlaw, Brenda Hornbrook, Sharon Brocato, Shawn Welock, Janine Hewey, Jim Brocato, Beverly Bass, Renee Dana, Jared Gravelle, Sarah Flood and James Flood; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by Hayden Flood, her loving husband of 40 years; a second husband, Max Barone; and a special grandchild, Natasha Flood.
A private burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Cooper. Those wishing to remember Lorraine in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Second Baptist Church, 21 Church St, Calais, ME 04619.
