BANGOR – Lorraine “Pat” Hill, 81, passed away peacefully at a local hospital May 23, 2016. She was born May 14, 1935 in Bangor, daughter of Elmer P. and Minette (Andrews) Smart.
Pat was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1953. She had been employed by Parts Wholesalers (a Darling-owned Company) for 20 years. Pat attended the Advent Christian Church in Bangor. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to travel, especially to Florida in the winter where she and her husband, Ervin enjoyed their friends. She was a very talented woman and could do anything including cooking, quilting, knitting and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Ryan and Lenora Peters and a son, Wray Hodges. Surviving are her husband, Ervin of Bangor; two children, Gregory Hodges of Orlando, FL and Michelle Giard of Brewer; six grandchildren, Josh Hodges of Bangor, Abbey Mattuchio of Lynnfield, MA, Lauren Hodges of Brooklyn, NY, Grace Hodges of Swampscott, MA, Nicole Giard of Salem, MA and Danielle Giard of Bradley; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Muncey, Ashton Violette and Brady Lapham; daughter-in-law, Teri Hodges of Bangor; sister, Nat Stone of Falmouth; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, May 27, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of the Advent Christian Church, Bangor officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, immediately following the service Friday. Interment will be in the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth following the reception. Those who wish to remember Pat in a special way may make gifts in her memory to St. Joseph Healthcare, P.O.
