Lorraine F. Pike, 77, passed away February 1, 2023 after a short difficult battle with brain cancer, surrounded by her family which was when she was at her happiest. She was born April 23rd, 1945, in Calais, the daughter of Alton J. and Barbara I. (Brown) Cox.
Lorraine grew up in Charlotte, ME attending a two room schoolhouse until she went on to graduate from Calais High School. In 1965, she married Wayne M. Pike and they were married for 49 years living in Calais until retiring to Orrington. Lorraine worked in various office settings during her career, Calais Regional Hospital and affiliated medical practices and AMHS Calais Children’s Residential Program until her retirement. She made life long friends everywhere she worked. During retirement she enjoyed her summers on Bear Cove, Meddybemps Lake and living in Orrington close to her children, grandchildren, and granddogs. She was very active socializing with her many friends, cooking, and attending daily pool exercise programs at the Y.. In later years, she spent time traveling with her lifelong friends. Lorraine always had a smile on her face that could bring a room to life and her listening ear with words of positive advice will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children; daughter Gayle and her husband, Jeff Davis; and son David and his wife, Billie-Jo Pike; her grandchildren; Megan and husband, Nick Paquin; Lauren and Josh Jones; Daniel and Megan Davis; Ashley Davis; Drew and Dream Jamison; Audrey and Lee Pike; her great-grandchildren; Margo, Crew, Cecelia, and Ardis; her sister, Caroline Furlong; several special nieces and nephews; and many friends both life long and new; and one special friend and caregiver, Daniel Downing. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Wayne M. Pike; son, Christopher Pike; sister, Helen Cameron; and various sister and brother inlaws.
A memorial service will be held 10 AM, February 8th, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Following the service, the family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshment at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. A graveside service will be held 3:30 PM, February 8th, 2023, at the Calais Cemetery, in Calais.
