Bangor, Maine - Louise Christine (Davidson) Doe, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 18, 2023 in Bangor, Maine. Louise was born August 29, 1934 in South Ryegate, VT to parents, Clyde and Winona (Whitehill) Davidson.
She grew up there with her older sister, Priscilla Mason. She graduated from Woodsville, New Hampshire High School, class of 1952. In 1954, Louise married Winston James Doe, also of South Ryegate, who had just returned from serving in the Army during the Korean War. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters. In 1999, Winston and Louise moved to Bangor, Maine to live closer to two of their daughters.
In 2004, they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Early in their marriage, Winston and Louise received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior through a home Bible study. Louise had a strong faith that sustained her throughout the rest of her life. She was gifted in hospitality and often hosted missionaries in their home. Louise loved her 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and she was always sending packages around the country for them.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Roxanne and her husband, Zane Byron of Milford, ME and their children, Geoffrey (Sarah) Heacock and Jessica (Kent) Smallwood; daughter, Karla and her husband, Dwight Davison of Monument, CO and their sons, Daniel (Ashley) Davison, Caleb (Anna) Davison, and Nathan (Ashley) Davison; and daughter, Janet and her husband, Jonathan French of Rutherfordton, NC and their children, Kaitlyn (Jawaan) Ballard, Meredith (Eric) Ford, Jillian (Kyle) Price, Regan French and Josiah French. She is also survived by her sister, Priscilla Mason of Stafford Springs, CT and her special nephew, Dennis Mason and niece, Melissa Kozuch.
In 2004, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Winston and in 2022 by her great-grandson, Andrew Graham Ford.
Relatives and friends are welcome to a calling hour 3-4 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with a funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. After the service, all are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service which will be held 10:00 a.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Pinehurst Cemetery, South Ryegate, VT.
