BANGOR - Louise "Weez" Parlee, 59, of Bangor passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024, after a brief illness. The daughter of Albert and Dorothy Parlee, Louise grew up in Orrington, and graduated from Brewer High School in 1982. She went on to earn a culinary arts degree from Penobscot Job Corps, and worked in several restaurants throughout the Bangor and Lewiston/Auburn areas. She later found a home in human resources at OHI while earning an associates degree from Beal College, graduating with the highest GPA in her program. During this time Louise lived on Pushaw Lake in Glenburn, where she enjoyed boating and kayaking, full-moon bonfires, cookouts and long dinners with neighbors who became lifelong friends. More recently, she could be found antiquing, taking painting classes, and cheering on her friend's kids at their sporting events. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her brother, Burt and sister, Kathleen; niece, Jennifer and husband, Scott, and their three children; nephew, James; uncle, Carroll Cousins; and several cousins. Louise was recently engaged and is greatly missed by her fiancé, Jim Sobers of Ogden, Utah. Her family would like to thank Louise's dearest friends Stephanie and Jennie Watson-Todd, and the Rev. Sue Davenport and Karen Galella for their dedication to our sister and support during this difficult time. A service and celebration of Louise's life will be held on Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Family and friends are invited to share stories and memories of Louise through conversation and refreshments immediately following the service.
