BANGOR – Lucille Mildred “Lucy” Higgins, 69, went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2017. She was born November 6, 1948 in Skowhegan, Maine, the daughter of Albert and Alberta Smith. Lucille spent most of her life as Director of Nursing in Bangor rehab and nursing facilities.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo James Higgins Jr, and her father Albert L. Smith. She is survived by her son, James Michael Higgins and wife, Sarah Catherine Higgins; grandsons, Leo Daniel Higgins and Asher Paul Higgins, all of Brewer; her mother, Alberta Jeanette (Huard) Nelson of Skowhegan; sisters, Jean M. Wright of Greene, and Patricia A. Dorion of Clearwater, FL.; brother-in-law, Edward E. Dorion; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017, at Crosspoint Church Thrive Center, 1476 Broadway, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the church hall immediately following the service, Friday. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
