Lucille Wiswell

December 26, 1928 — March 19, 2024

Orrington - Lucille "Molly" Elizabeth Wiswell, 95, passed away at her home on March 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 26, 1928, in Lincoln, Maine, to Arthur and Lena Millett.
In 1948, Molly married Henry Wiswell, they built their home in Brewer, where they raised their two children, and started their business, Northeast Soil Services. In 1965, she decided to get her teaching degree while working part time and caring for her family. Three years later, she graduated near the top of her class from the University of Maine. She loved teaching, particularly 5th grade, and was deeply distressed to be forced into an early retirement due to a severe case of Trigeminal Neuralgia. She suffered with this debilitating disease for many years before receiving a successful gamma ray treatment in Boston.
In addition to her parents, Molly was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Henry G. Wiswell; their son, Douglas Wiswell, who passed from cancer at the age of 38; and three siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Jody) DeCesere and her husband, Vincent; granddaughter, Nicole (Nikki) Fletcher and her husband, Arthur; and great-grandsons, Garrett and Jacob.
A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated group of volunteers at My Friends Place, who gave the gift of support and enjoyment through her last years in her struggle with Alzheimer's. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the team of professional caregivers at St. Joseph Hospice Care. They gave guidance and support while also giving Molly the loving care that made it possible for her to stay in her own home.
For those who wish to make a donation in Molly's name, please consider one of the two organizations that gave so much to her and her family; My Friends Place, 703 Essex Street, Bangor, ME 04401, or St. Joseph Hospice, 360 Broadway P.O. Box 403, Bangor, ME 04401.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye and may she rest in peace with her loved ones who have been waiting. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
