Marcia (Brickel) Lewis

It is with great sadness that the family of Marcia Nan (Brickel) Lewis announces her passing after a long, hard fought battle against lung cancer on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the age of 68 at the Veteran’s Home in Bangor.
Marcia was born in Bangor, Maine on September 11, 1950 to parents Manuel and Elsie (Krotman) Brickel. She graduated Bangor High School in 1969. Marcia was always a hard worker and almost always had at least two jobs. She worked as a CNA for Stillwater Health Care for 19 years, St Joseph’s Hospital for 19 years and the Veteran’s Home for 25 years. She absolutely loved bingo, the casino, and traveling with her friends and family.
Marcia will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 16 years, Willie Lewis of Bangor. Marcia was also dearly loved by her brothers Bernie Brickel and his wife Annie of Florida, Steve Brickel of Pennsylvania, and Jim and his wife Diane Brickel of Rockland, Maine and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was mother and grandmother to 3 beloved children and 9 grandchildren. Her oldest son Dion Gould of Bangor and his children Bryce Gould, Jonathan Trask, and Miranda Gould. Her son David and his wife Amy Brickel of Hampden and their children Ariel Thompson, and Fiona and Amelia Brickel. Her daughter Jenny McAuliffe of Bangor and her children Evan and Gracie McAuliffe and Mya Booker.
Relatives and friends of Marcia are welcome to gather at 2 pm at Congregation Beth El on 183 French St. in Bangor with Rabbi Darah Lerner officiating, followed by a reception to share memories with refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. in Bangor. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Maine Veteran’s Home, 44 Hogan Rd Bangor, ME 04401.
