Margaret Lucille Alex “Peggy”, 85, died October 30, 2015 at her home in Annapolis, Md. She was born May 12, 1930 in Brewer, the daughter of Alfred and Grace (Flaherty) Kelley. Peggy grew up on Pearl Street in Bangor. She attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from John Bapst High School Class of 1948. Peggy raised her family in Maryland but never lost her love of her home state of Maine. She was a proud Irish-Catholic woman with a kind and wonderful soul. Peggy was a loving, caring wife and a wonderful mother. Those lucky enough to have known her are truly blessed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ellen “Kelley” Fuller and a niece, Stephanie “Jernigan” Baker. Margaret is survived by her husband of 56 years, Peter S. Alex, USAF Ret; son, Peter J. Alex, US Army Ret, both of Annapolis, Md; daughter, Elena Maria Duplessis of Lothian, Md; niece, Denise “Darling” Talbot of Steillacoom, Wa; nephew, Jeffery Mark Fuller of San Diego, Ca; great niece, Grace Baker of Salisbury, Md; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor on Wednesday, November 4, 2105 at 11a.m. followed by the Rite of Committal at the Achorn Cemetery, Rockland.
