Margaret Lobley

August 25, 1922 — December 28, 2013

Bangor - Margaret Ellen Lobley, 91, wife of the late Perley W. Lobley, died December 28, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born August 25, 1922 in Bangor, daughter of Ira C. and Mary C. (Brown) Beal.
Margaret graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1940. She worked for Bangor Hydro for several years. She met Perley Lobley and they were married after WW II, and raised two children.
Margaret volunteered with Cerebral Palsy and Parkinson’s Disease support groups as well as others. She was a lifetime member of the Forest Avenue Congregational Church and also a member of the 1940 Club. Margaret loved babysitting for her grand cats. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness.
Surviving are, one son, Charles “Chuck” Lobley; one daughter, Karen Duplisea and her husband Rodney, all of Bangor; sister, Dorothy Norwood and her husband, Floyd of Orrington; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Beal of Brewer; Perley’s brothers and sisters and their spouses, Norman and wife, Joyce, of South Portland, Robert and wife, Julia, of Orrington and Earl and wife, Wendy, of Granite Bay, Calif.; Alfreda and husband, Paul Webster, of Bangor, and Linda and husband, William St. Louis, of Ocala, Fla., cousin, Donald Devoe of Falmouth; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Elizabeth Birchfield and a brother, Harold Beal.
In keeping with her wishes, the family invites relatives and friends to share prayers, conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor 1-2:30 pm. Sunday, January 5, 2014, followed by a graveside service at 3 pm. ,at Mt. Hope Cemetery , Bangor.
