Margaret Tenney

Margaret “Peg” Tenney, 93, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born January 30, 1926 in Bangor, the daughter of Raymond and Charlotte (Hawes) Greene.

Peg was “mom” to all who came into her life. True to form one of the last things she asked was “Have you eaten yet?” Her sacrificial servanthood was an example to us all. The word most often used to describe her was “feisty” and she remained fiercely independent until the end.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Herbert “Frank” Tenney; sister, Charlotte “Betty” Tenney; brother, Raymond “Bud” Greene.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Tenney and his wife, Bonnie; grandson, Jonathan; countless nieces, nephews, and stray children of all ages she adopted along the way.

In keeping with Peg’s wishes a graveside service will be held 3PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, immediately followed by a reception.
