Marguerite Gosselin

December 23, 1942 — February 20, 2014

VEAZIE - Marguerite F. Gosselin, known as Maggie, passed peacefully on February 20, 2014 after years of ill health at St. Joseph Hospital. Maggie was born December 23, 1942 in Bangor, daughter of Francis M. McKenzie and Rose Marguerite (Brennan) McKenzie.
She attended Parochial Schools, St. Johns and John Bapst. She and her husband were active in formation and fundraising efforts of the Beano Committee. While attending John Bapst Maggie was a Captain of the cheer leading squad and the Queen of the Prom.
Following her graduation she married Edmond T. Gosselin and together their marriage spand nearly 54 years. Early in the marriage Maggie established herself as formidable cook and will be remembered by many for her daring and excellent dishes from her kitchen. No one could duplicate Maggie's creations.
The Charm she created to celebrate the holidays, decorating inside and out creating fantasies for her family and friends. Analee dolls, bubble fairies and Christmas lights continued to brighten her years.
She bowled in individual and the couples leagues at Bangor Brewer Lanes for many years and found great joy spending those times with her closest friends. Her great love of the ocean with sand beaches and rolling waves attracted her like bees to honey. If you added a lobster feed or clambake it was always a grand slam. Maggie's mainstay was her husband and children and her love was unconditional.
Together Maggie and Eddie parented three children that they considered their purpose in life.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, her son Edmond Jr., and his wife Heidi, her daughter Tricia and her husband Robert Quirk, her daughter Michelle M. Hawes and her husband Aaron and their children Kaylee Marie, Lindsay Rose, Aaron Jr. and Cody James. Her grandchildren were her promised treasures who continued to give happiness to her days.
She is also survived by her brother Richard M. McKenzie, and his wife Mary Jane, her sister Patricia Reed and her husband David. The Reed's children; Patrick and Rebecca. Maggie was predeceased by her nephew Scott Reed and her mother-in-law Dorothy B. Gosselin in October 2013. Maggie's love for family extended to her many nieces and nephews. Through the years she shared her life with Ed's extended family which included the Milans , the Gosselin's, the Buswell's, the Tweedies, The Boones, the Stewart's, the McKay's, the Bouchard's and numerous others. Close family friends; Joan Bouchard and the Santhyadka-Hosamine family. Her dear uncle William Brennan and Aunt Jean Brennan and their children.
A funeral will be held 11am Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor immediately following the funeral Monday. Spring interment will be in the Hudson Village Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Maggie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to The Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt.
