MARGUERITE S. RUNNELLS
BREWER – Marguerite S. Runnells, 96, passed away peacefully July 18, 2020, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born August 23, 1923, in Newburgh, the daughter of Howard Ashmore and Isabella (Rogers) Spaulding.
Marguerite graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1941. Following graduation, she attended Beal College. Marguerite was employed by the Eastern Corporation in the payroll department in her younger years. She lived most of her life in Carmel after marrying Robert. Marguerite loved to cook and sew for people, making many quilts for friends and relatives. She was a member of the Hermon Baptist Church for many years and would be there every time the doors we opened if possible. She had a passion for missions and the spreading of the Gospel. Marguerite has gone home to meet her Savior.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her husband, Robert; son, Clifford Runnells; and brother, Harold Spaulding. Surviving, are her son, Richard and his wife, Gloria, of Alabama; daughter, Valerie Fraser and her husband, Scott, of Brunswick; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In honor of her memory, Marguerite would like any donations be made to Hermon Baptist Church, in care of the Missions Committee. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 10:00am, at Pine Grove Cemetery.
