Levant – Marie Lucille (Knowles) Richardson, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, January 25, 2019. She was born December 19, 1928, the daughter of Bertrand C. and June E. (Mower) Knowles.
Marie graduated from Bangor High School. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life, Lloyd Richardson, on a blind date. Together, they operated Rivermoor Farms, a successful dairy operation, for 39 years. In her early years she was involved in local civic organizations.
Marie loved gardening, camping, and a good card game. Above all, family came first, and she loved them dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lloyd; three sisters, Mildred, Muriel, and Jackie; two brothers, Maurice, and Melvin.
Marie is survived by her children, Cynthia Goodwin and spouse, Terrence, of Glenburn, Deborah Urquhart and spouse, Butch, of Brewer, and Brian Richardson, of Levant; grandchildren, Jason Goodwin and spouse, Melissa, of Glenburn, Wendy Urquhart and partner, Rob Fuller, of Brewer, Dana Peirce and spouse, Donna, of Glenburn; great-grandchildren, Myles Goodwin, of Glenburn, the apple of Marie’s eye, J.D. Peirce and spouse, Kara, of Glenburn, Alex Peirce and fiancée, Kaylie Watson, of Carmel; great-great-grandchildren, Karlie, and Emelia Peirce, of Glenburn; sisters, Margaret Murray, of Bangor, June Wilson, Judy Brawn, and Julia Bean, all of Glenburn; brothers, Merton Knowles, of Bangor, Milton Knowles, of Levant, and Norris Knowles, of Florida; two special sisters-in-law, Lois Ann Knowles, of Glenburn, and Maxine Knowles, of Bangor; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Marie’s life, 2-4 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Family Reception of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
