Jeannette "Jiggy" (Averill) Morrill

January 14, 1930 — May 21, 2023

BANGOR – Jeannette “Jiggy” (Averill) Morrill, 93, died May 21, 2023, at a local healthcare center. She was born January 14, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Leo K. and Dorothy O. (Richardson) Averill.

Jeannette was a graduate of Bangor High School. She worked at W.T. Grant and Sweets Drug Store before joining Avon in 1964, for over 45 years. Sometimes, while delivering, she would come home with a puppy or kitten. She also volunteered at the Y for over 15 years; teaching Adult Swimming.

She was a fantastic cook, making every celebration special. Averill’s are known for their love of food. She might have been the last to sit down at the table and deservedly so, the last to leave. She also had a green thumb with flowers, cross-breeding roses, and fresh vegetables from the garden every year.

She loved movies, dancing, and music. She also enjoyed traveling to her favorite Hawaii, U.S. States, Europe, cruising, and staying at Toddy Pond. At 60, she took up painting and excelled quickly at being quite the artist.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Paul “Diggy” Morrill (so Dig and Jig are back together again), her son, Steven Morrill; and seven older siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Goodell and her husband, Charlie; granddaughter, Lyndsey Morrill; several nieces and nephews, and many “step” grandchildren that she welcomed with loving arms and generosity.

At Jeannette’s request, services will be private.
