Baileyville , Bangor– Marilyn Ann (Tozier) Coffin sadly passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was born June 6, 1940, in Calais, the daughter of Arnold and Deanie (Kneeland) Tozier.
She graduated from Woodland High School in 1958, and married her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Coffin on November 3, 1959. They were married for 46 years before his passing in 2005. After his passing, Marilyn moved to Bangor to be closer to her daughter, Kelly.
Marilyn will be remembered as a caring, warm soul whose smile would brighten every room. She made friends easily and everyone loved her. She enjoyed traveling and many shopping trips with her sister, Nancy, and friend, Heidi Lewis on Cape Cod. However, Marilyn deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, Elwood Tozier, nieces Kyra Justason and Lisa Fuller, brother-in-law, Ron Gonzales and his daughter, Ronni Gonzales Williams and sister-in-law, Barbara Breslow.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Coffin) Heleen , sister, Nancy Wolf , great nephew, Gary Clinch and his girlfriend, Allie Silva, great niece, Mariah Eaton, sister-in-law Brenda Tozier, niece Jennifer Pratt, step nephew, John Gonzales, great nephew, Mitchell Pratt; brother-in-law and his wife, Ed and Ginny Coffin; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Marilyn leaves behind several close friends in the Baileyville, Calais, Bangor and Cape Cod, MA. areas.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staffs at Phillips-Strickland House and the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor for the love and care given to Marilyn over the past few years. A memorial service and burial will be held in the spring of 2023 at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
